Kansas City, MO. (KCTV) – An area known to Flow is Indian Creek, in particular at Watts Mill nearly 103rd and State Line Road. Business owners in the region said that a bunch of debris that was only getting worse only created more problems for them.

Jasper Mirable has noticed that for over a year, a bunch of debris and pieces of trees had been sitting at Indian Creek. This is something that business owners are worried.

“It’s not good and it’s just backup. You can see it, it’s so obvious. Here in Kansas City again. I hear it, it will happen, and nothing happens,” he said. “No one worries about the state line of 103.”

The stream is known for serious flood problems, destroying the parking lot where the Jasper restaurant is in the past years. The owners said that the battery was only aggravating things.

Mirable said he had noticed the battery for the first time more than a year ago, but made calls to the city in March 2025.

“Is it going to happen? I don’t know. Believe me, I take it with a grain of salt now,” he said.

He said that when he spoke to Kansas City parks and leisure, they told him that they would approach the problem, but never did it.

Monday storms rekindled mirable fears and other business owners.

“Another flood. So we go back there,” he said. He said that the area surrounding his business had flooded.

Mirable explained apart from flooding problems, he also worried about people’s safety. He said children will climb on the rocks of the stream and observe the homeless in the region. He said he feared that they are falling and injured.

KCTV sent an email to the city on the debris of the stream.

In an email, the city said that it was aware of flooding problems in the Watts Mill area and that they will be addressed at the end of the water.
