South bend, ind. (WSBT) – Notre Dame’s scientists will sit for a drink with Wednesday evening at the Chichory Café.

Researchers will share the latest scientific developments during an international rally this week.

Wednesday evening’s event arrives at the end of a three -day series that goes around the world.

Pint of Science is an international non -profit organization that started in Europe in order to make science accessible to all.

South Bend is one of the 16 cities in the United States that host the community event.

Visitors can expect to learn more about the latest people in astronomy and even about the science of how bugs make music.

Last year, the event was only organized in five cities in the United States

Now Dr. Kate Biberdorf, also known as Kate the chemistHope to make it an annual event in South Bend.

Helping the public to understand science is its official post description to Notre Dame, and now Dr. Biberdorf uses its title to create a hectic night of games and exploration.

“So we’re going to start with a very fast conference, about 20 minutes maximum. So just share funny strengths, many flashy images, fun things. After that, we will have a Q&A, so that you can ask all your questions. But the big rule is not a boring scientific discourse,” said Dr Biberdorf.

The pint of science inspires scientists from around the world to bring their communities in a mutual space to ask questions about how our world changes and what science does to follow.

“And Wednesday, it’s all about planetarium. We have a post-doc, we have Keith Davis which is a DBT here in Notre Dame. So it will be really fun if you like atoms and galaxies,” said Dr. Biberdorf.

The speakers range from current students to professional researchers living in our region.

“We have graduate students, we have post-doctoral students. And then we also have wonderful and incredible teachers. So you will see a range of scientific backgrounds, but that’s the point, no. We want to be able to share our science, where we are in our history. And our representative graduate students are good,” said Dr. Biberdorf.

Tickets are exhausted for the event on Wednesday, but this same format is already performing at Chichory Café in South Bend each month.

“So, every month, they have Michiana Science Café, and it happens at Chichory Café. And so it has happened. We have been doing for about a year, so we’re going to build it now.

The doors open for the event on Wednesday at 6.30 p.m., and the pint de science conference begins at 7 p.m. The event will take place until 9 p.m.

Michiana Science Café takes place every third Tuesday of the month at Chichory Café at 6 p.m.

The next CAFE Science event will take place in June. More information on the event, as well as the way you can register, can be found on Notre Dame website.
