Free summer entertainment in abundance planned for the Elgin region

External markets and concerts to films, cruise nights and exercise lessons, there is something for almost everyone during the weekly and free monthly summer events that take place in and around Elgin in the coming months.

Here is an overview of what is planned so that you can plan in advance:

DUNDEE TOWNSHIP PARK district

Concerts in the park: Live music is presented from 7 to 8:30 am every Tuesday from June 3 at 7 p.m. at 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday in a rotating series of parks in Carpentersville, West Dundee, East Dundee and Sleepy Hollow. The first on June 3 will feature the Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute Act Fortunate Sons to Carpenter Park, 275 Maple Ave., Carpentersville.

Family fun nights: Family activities will be offered from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday June 11 in Huffman Park, 811 Tartans Drive, West Dundee and 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday July 16 at Lions Park in East Dundee.

Outdoor yoga: Yoga lessons will take place from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. from Saturday from June 7 to August 23 at the Randall Oaks Park back refuge, 1180 N. Randall Road, West Dundee.

Oriental dundee

Deposit market: The market is bound from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday to October 25 outside the deposit, 319 N. River St. For more information, go to EastDundee.net/Things_to_do/the_Depot.php.

Tors Thursday: Live music is presented from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, June 26, July 24 and August 28 outside the deposit. The first concert will star in the gooroos and food and drinks will be sold by village sellers. For more information, go to EastDundee.net/Things_to_do/village_community_events/thirsty_thursday.php.

Wine Down Wednesday: Live music is presented from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, July 9 and August 13 at the depot. The first concert presents Funk and Soul Horizon sounds. For more information, go to EastDundee.net/Things_to_do/village_community_events/wine_down_wednesday.php.

Motor Monday Cruise Night: The Midwest Racing Preservation Association is organizing a monthly automobile show from 5 p.m. to twilight on Monday June 16, July 21, August 18 and September 15 in downtown East Dundee. Elgin

Elgin city center market: The market, with a wide selection of products, pastries and other foods, plants and other items, is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday from May 23 to October 10 along the city center of Riverside Drive in the city center. (Once a month, the market is extended at 8 p.m.) for more information, go to www.downownnelgin.com/market.

Concerts in the park: Live music is presented from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every Friday from June 5 to 14 to August 14 in places that alternate between Wing Park Bandshell, 1010 Wing St., and Lords Park Pavilion, 100 Oakwood Blvd. The concert of June 5 will be in Wing Park and will understand the Aurora American Legion group playing patriotic music. Films in the park: The projections start at dusk every Friday from June 6 to August 15 in a rotating series of parks, including Festival, Meier, Wing, Mulberry Grove, Century Oaks, Lords Park and Marie Grolich. The first film on June 6 will be “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” at the Park Festival, 132 S. Grove Ave. For more information, go to elginil.gov/1775/summer-movies-in-parking.

Films on lawn: The projections begin at twilight on Saturday June 11, July 19 and August 16 outside the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way. The film of June 21 will be “Dirty Dancing”. For more information, go to elginil.gov/2620/movies-on-wawn.

South Elgin

Concerts in the park: Live music will be presented from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Wednesday from May 28 to September 10 in Panton Mill Park, 10 N. Water St. The first concert of the season will showcase the Rock Tribute Arra Homage Rock Group. Catering trucks will be on site.

Concerts at lunchtime: Live music will be presented from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, June 5, September 4 and September 11 at the Panton Mill Park. The first concert of the year is Billy Elton, a tribute group that plays the songs of Elton John and Billy Joel.

Cinema nights: Family films will be screened at dusk on Friday June 20, July 11 and August 8 and Saturday September 20 in Panton Mill Park. The first film of the season will be “Moana 2”. Concessions will be available.

Cruise nights: The cars will be exhibited from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, July 15 and August 19 at the Panton Mill Park. The catering trucks and the dairy queen will be on site.

Zumba: Classes take place from 6.30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday June 10, July 8 and August 12 at the Panton Mill Park scene.

West Dundee

French market: Directed by Bensidoun USA, the market makes its debut on May 23 and will be owned from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday August 22 outside the Pump House, 98 Oregon Ave. For more information, go to bensidounusa.com/elmhurst/west-dundee-pump-house-market.html.

Finally Friday: Live music will be presented from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday May 30, June 27, July 25 and August 22 outside the Pump House.
