Canandaigua – The Smart Systems Technologies program offered by Finger Lakes Community College will organize an event on Tuesday with a panel of guests that plans to treat the transition to high -demand careers in technology.

The event, Coop Ventures XIV: Smart Systems Technology’s “From Strain to Strength: transforming underemployment into high-tech careers”, will be aimed at potential students, in particular adults, who wish to explore their options while they continue to earn a living.

The president of the FLCC, Dr. Robert Nye, will give the opening speech.

Panel industry professionals will include Brett Blizzard from UEC Advanced Circuit Technologies, Andrew Hall of Quality Vision International and Christopher Paulson de Rochester Precisis Optics.

The invited round table will be followed by presentations of student cooperatives.

Kathy Hochul’s recent budgetary announcement of the Governor included a free community college program specifically for adults aged 25 to 55 who wish to pursue a diploma in high demand fields such as cybersecurity, nursing and technology. Thanks to Suny Reconnect, the state will cover tuition fees, costs, books and supplies for adults ready to jump.

Tuesday’s event will be in the FLCC cafeteria, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., light refreshments will be served.

An RSVP is required if you plan to attend in person. Those who wish to see by direct streaming should send an email sam.samanta@flcc.edu.
