The health service said that the patient was not a New Jersey resident and that there is no associated case known in the state at present.

There was Three cases of measles in New Jersey so far this yearAnd the three cases took place in a single household, said health officials.

What should I do if I think I have measles?

Anyone who believes he has been exposed to measles should not go directly to the office of a doctor or to the emergency; Health officials say they call a health care provider in advance so that precautions can be taken to minimize exposure to other patients and medical staff.

Symptoms of measles include high fever, cough, flowing nose, aqueous red eyes and rash that appears in the form of flat red spots.

According to experts, the virus can spread in the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, and he can stay in the air up to two hours after a infected person has left the area.

The measles is very contagious and those who have not been vaccinated are the most at risk.
