Young Brazilian scientists were awarded during the world’s largest science and engineering fair

The projects developed by students of Brazilian public schools and federal institutes stand out for Regeneron ISEF 2025 in Ohio (United States)

Brasília, May 16, 2025: Brazilian students won five prizes at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2025 Regeneron, which was held from May 10 to 16 in Columbus, Ohio (United States). The Fair is the largest international event of science and engineering for pre-university students, bringing together more than 1,600 finalists from a 60 countries. Participants contributed nearly $ 9 million in prices, scholarships and university opportunities.

The Brazilian delegation included 28 students, 15 of which were selected by the Brazilian and engineering fair (FEBACE), held at the University of São Paulo (USP). They went to the United States with the sponsorship of the United States Embassy and Consulates in Brazil. 13 other students, selected by the International Science and Technology Fair (Mostratec), held in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande Do Sul, also participated in ISEF.

The prizes were awarded in two categories: the large award ceremony, which recognizes the best projects in 22 thematic categories, and the special prize ceremony, with prizes offered by research institutions, universities and international scientific organizations. In total, the students selected by February won four prizes, and those selected by Mostratec won one.
