Residents of West Vancouver met without ambulance post in their community after the existing facilities became so dilapidated that it was closed.
From the outside, station 255, located on Fulton avenue at only a pâté of houses in the town hall, looks like a small dilapidated house.
Inside, decomposition has reached a dangerous state. Global News has learned that Rot and MULD has rendered the building uninhabitable.
This left the community with more than 45,000 people without base for its paramedical paramedics for months.
The crews are based at Lions Gate hospital in the north of Vancouver Voisin, 10 kilometers, since December – raising concerns concerning the waiting times for the service.

The mayor of West Vancouver, Mark Sager, said that the municipality is the owner of the property, but that the maintenance of the building is the responsibility of the provincial government.
He said that no one in British Columbia for Emergency Health Services had made concerns until recently.

“I can’t imagine how it was not treated when they saw a problem,” he told Global News.
“I ask the council to demolish the building as quickly as possible. It is not repairable. “
West Vancouver has obtained a nearby building for the crews, he said, but no document has been signed so far.
“In the meantime, we have invited them to use our fire station … and I understand that they did a little, but we want an ambulance station in West Van and we want people to be well taken care of.”
What is not clear is how the situation came to this point.
Global News has submitted several requests for comments to the emergency health services of British Columbia over several days, but has not yet received an answer.
