During the 26 -year part now, I am a distant worker.
I have my Remote first role In medical sales a few years after obtaining his university degree in 1999. At the time, I had never heard the term “distance work”, and I did not know anyone who did it.
I just knew that working from my home office was very practical, and this configuration could help me create a flexible schedule as I had never had before.
I also really enjoyed not having to go to an office and from an office, which gave me the impression of having more hours in my day.
As long as I was able to finish my work well and in time, I was clear. I could go away for an appointment or a race during the day and simply adjust the hours I was online instead of trying to take PTO.
By looking back, however, the The biggest advantage of remote work It was how it allowed me to be a more present father for my two daughters.
I did not feel like having to choose between my children and my work

The flexibility of my work meant that I did not feel additional pressure to choose my work rather than my family or vice versa – I could devote time to both without sacrificing each other.
I did not have to think twice before I register to help with the days in the pupils’ field or to see my children’s projects in a school fair in the middle of the day. I could simply integrate them into my schedule, then invent the work I needed to do later.
It was particularly pleasant to be able to chaperon so many school outings. I remember once again that my daughters and I spent together exploring museums and historical ports.
When the school was closed on vacation or canceled because of the bad weather, it was not serious. I already worked from my home office, so I could just spend more time with my children. If I needed it, I could finish my work after they went to bed.
Without traffic traffic, I have always been at home for family dinners. All this only brought me closer to me and my daughters.
My children have grown now, but I still enjoy the advantages of flexible and distance work
Although my two daughters are now adults, I always find a huge value to have such a flexible schedule and no journey. Balancing my work and my personal life is easy when I can go to the gymnasium or do the laundry between the meetings.
In addition, this freedom made me feel more satisfied and motivated to work hard. I feel the most committed and pushed to succeed in jobs where I know that I am trusted to manage my time wisely.
Distant jobs Can vary in terms of flexibility, and this type of work is not for everyone, but I am lucky to have had a career that gave me many opportunities to be at home and to be a current parent.
I think it’s a shame so recent Mandates back to the office put these opportunities out of reach for others.
