BC Coroners Service says that overdose deaths tend to descend into the province, with 275 people who die in February and March due to the toxic drug supply.
The service indicates in a press release that Mars is the sixth consecutive month during which less than 160 people died due to unregulated drug toxicity.
He indicates that preliminary figures show that 143 people died in March, down more than 33% year -round year, while 132 people died in February, a decrease of 35% compared to the same month of last year.

The service indicates that smoking remains the most common way to consume toxic drugs, surveys indicating more than six out of 10 of those who died smoked their substances.
Vancouver recorded the most deaths in the first quarter of 2025 with 97, followed from 52 to Surrey and 28 in Victoria.

The Coroners service indicates that people aged 30 to 59 represented 67% of deaths by drug toxicity in the first three months of 2025, and 76% were men.
He says that toxicological tests show that fentanyl and that related substances remain the most common in the deaths of drug toxicity, with more than three -quarters of the victims testing positive for fentanyl in their systems.
