Five students from Howard University obtained a subsidy of $ 1 million for their school after winning the fifth annual madness competition from the Goldman Sachs market, as part of its HBCU possibilities program, according to an announcement published on the University website.

The winners of the 2025 market madness competition, Keyla Arrechea, Jordan Atkins, Aaron Harrison, Kadijah Mansaray and Jada Rabun, were among the students Howard in the semester program, which is designed for the immersive introduction to key financial concepts and their real applications, as Goldman Sachs’ website States.

During the competition, the Howard team faced students from 11 other HBCUs. Most of the team had not yet completed their first semester of college at the start of the program, but they progressed through two virtual towers and finally delivered their last launch live to the headquarters of Goldman Sachs in New York.

They were responsible for creating an income growth strategy for Amer Sports, a global sportswear company that generated $ 5.2 billion in revenues in 2024, according to the company website. According to the announcement, the Howard team proposed to launch an adaptive athletic wear and tear via the company’s Arc’Teryx brand, with a deployment at Dick’s Sporting Goods before the 2026 Paralympic Games. Their business plan included market studies, financial forecasts, a return on investment modeling and a Swot analysis, reflecting the analytical rigor that some of them have developed through the Howard University School of Business, as announced. The five students also introduce leadership and service into their broader campus roles. According to the announcement, Mansaray manages a non -profit organization for marginalized young people.
