On a dusty road in County VulcanAlta., A life of automotive passion is parked in the courtyard of the Gord Nelson farm.

The 63 -year -old farmer spent decades to collect and restore vintage vehicles, more than 250 in total, transforming his property into a car lover. But after this weekend, he said goodbye to a part of this collection.

From Monday, Nelson puts around 60 vehicles with agricultural parts and equipment for auction In an unreserved online sale of six days. Among the precious cars are a Dodge Charge 426 Hemi from 1966, a cougar eliminator from 1970 and a 1962 Impala Chevrolet.

While letting go of high-end parts is bit bittersness, Nelson says it’s time to reduce size. “It’s a little sad that I can’t wait to no longer have to maintain everything,” he told Global News.

History continues below advertising

He plans to keep the vehicles he can still enjoy easily – those he does not have to drive on gravel roads.

“It has always been my goal-everything is ready to leave, put a key and drive it. But when there are 25, it is difficult to keep them all,” he said. Despite the auction, Nelson will have more than 200 vehicles on the property.

Over the years, his cars have become more than just a collection – they have been a source of joy for family, friends and the wider cars community. Nelson and his wife Kelly, who shares his passion, often participate in local parades and rallies.

“I just hope that they get as much pleasure from the hobby as I am,” said Nelson. “It was very rewarding.”
