“I have never been for Mexico. “”

For years, it was my boost of killing in the party game par excellence, because it seemed that I was the only one among my friends to say it.

Although we lived in the United States, most of them had a vacation in Mexico at some point in their lives. However, I joined the club at the end of 2023 when I finally had the opportunity to go to Cabo With my fiancé.

The all -inclusive property in which we stayed was magnificent and we had a good time. However, looking back, I made some mistakes that could have been easily avoided.

Here are three false steps of my trip that could happen to anyone – and what I would do differently next time.

I did not know that we could not swim in the ocean near our seaside resort by the sea

Look for swimming of a location before booking it.

Cabo’s Beachfront Resorts Have a breathtaking view of the ocean – but in some places you can only look at the water.

During the trip, I learned that it was not sure to swim in many beaches along the Cortez Sea due to strong currents, stiff bases and dangerous riptides.

Where we stayed in El Médano Beach in Pueblo Bonito Pacifica turned out to be one of these “lounge only” spots. Although we were able to walk and Sunathe on the neighboring beach, I was disappointed not to be able to go in the water.

Although this is mentioned on the hotel website, I did not think of checking before booking because I did not plan to not be able to swim in the ocean in a complex that is on a beach.

Fortunately, the property had two massive swimming pools where we spent most of our time instead. They were great and I loved sipping cocktails by the pool, but I missed the feeling of salt water on my skin.

With hindsight, I would have liked to do more research on the location so that I could have preparing myself mentally or having planned to visit one of the beach sections in the region.

If you plan to Visit Los Cabos And I want to swim in the ocean, I suggest looking in advance to see where this is possible.

We should have planned dinner outside of our all -inclusive complex

When you stay in a All inclusive complex With several restoration options, it is easy to opt for the convenience of having to look for local flavors.

Between the brunch by the Siempre swimming pool and the high -end dinners in Península or Quivra Steakhouse on the property, I felt fairly well taken care of in the food service.

That said, I always give myself kicks so as not to venture out of site at least once to explore the dynamic catering scene in downtown Cabo.

It would not have been difficult to call a taxi or take the complementary shuttle of the complement to the city center, but I found myself caught in the ease of catering on site and I jumped the chance to taste the local cuisine.

After learning more about fresh seafood at Mariscos las very islas, huge portions in Camporsre and street tacos in Tacos Gardenias, I really feel like I missed.

For a more balanced experience, I would recommend planning to dine in advance where the locals do.

The sailing cruise was not what I expected, and I would have liked to know my limits

Sunset on water with mountains from a distance

I learned of the hard one that I can get sick on the sailboats.

Hayley Hutson

I have always liked to explore new water destinations and I have never fought with motion sickness, So I was not worried when my fiancé and I reserved a sunset cruise during our stay.

The first half of the excursion was incredible. We have seen striking rock formations (such as the famous “El Arco”), tanning sea lions and fascinating views on the coast.

Then the crew opened the sails and our journey has radically changed. When the boat has become entirely dependent on the wind and the waves, the unpredictable movement and the sudden tremors made me instantly maladed to my stomach.

Most Cabo sailboats are designed to bow with the wind without capsizing, but the extreme inclined made me hang on the rails for life dear anyway.

It is that day that I learned that I am not a sailboat girl – at least, not when the sailboat is in the agitated waters of the Pacific.

If I could do it, I would choose to take a catamaran or sail in the morning when there is less wind and the waters are calmer. I would also storage on drama to help transport difficulties.
