No modern political leader has no longer done to undermine science and research – both by reducing funding and directly distributing myths and disinformation – than President Donald Trump.

Whether it is to finance everything, cancer studies at the National Weather Service or to place a conspiracy theorist in difficulty like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. In charge of the country’s health, Trump has endangered millions of lives recklessly and has wreaked havoc that will take many years to repair.

And unfortunately, Trump also stimulated the state and the local government in a similar direction. Last week, the Republicans of the Northern Carolina Chamber advanced a bill to ignore the Food and Drug Administration by allowing the sale of a medication used to kill parasites in horses – ivermectine – without prescription.

Although presented by certain right -wing experts as a miracle remedy, scientific research revised by peers has shown such claims several times.

In the end: the defenders of the ivermectin can be sincere, but by reversing the laws established by drugs based on science, they indeed establish a very dangerous precedent.
