Raj Agnihotri has been appointed the next dean with the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business. He will start his service on July 1.

AGNIHTRI (AG-KNEE-HOE-TREE) is currently at the college as a Mary Warner scholarship holder, Marketing and Deputy Marketing Professor for Industry’s Commitment. He will succeed David Spalding, who announced a year ago his intention to withdraw from this role this summer.
“Dr Agnihotri is an accomplished researcher and a student -focused leader. He has experience and the vision of advancing commercial education and strengthening our entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem for the benefit of the Iowa economy,” said President Wendy Wintersteen. “I am convinced that he will continue to raise the reputation of Ivy College of Business, both national and global, and will be based on the excellent momentum created by Dean David Spalding.”
Agnihotri is the founding director of Ivy Sales Forum and the inaugural deputy dean of the college for the commitment of the industry. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and his research, and is a co-author of “ABCS of RelationsWing Selt via Service”, a manual used in sales lessons around the world.
“It is a deep honor to be selected as the next dean with Ivy College raisbeck,” said Agnihotri. “I undertake to serve our students, to provide an excellent education which prepares them for professional success and to maintain the tradition of excellence of the college in research. I look forward to collaborating with teachers, staff, students, partners and alumni to reach new heights.”
Agnihotri obtained a baccalaureate in engineering from the University of Pune in India, an MBA in management of Oklahoma City University and a doctorate. In marketing from Kent State University, Ohio. He has been used at Iowa State since 2018 and in his current role as assistant dean since 2024. The previous positions include appointments at the University of Texas, Arlington and the University of Ohio, Athens.
By making this announcement, the main vice-president Jason Keith expressed his thanks to the research committee, led by the associate provost for the academic programs Ann Marie Vanderzanden and the dean of veterinary medicine Dan Grooms, as well as the faculty and the staff of the Commerce College for their reflected consideration of the candidates.
