A Nova Scotia man is due in court in January on several child pornography charges following an investigation involving police from Canada and the United States.
Bryce Melanson, 26, allegedly traveled to the United States to meet a youth for sexual purposes and was arrested March 7 after police searched his home in Springhill, Nova Scotia, about 115 kilometers to the north -west of Halifax.
He was charged with child luring, possession of child pornography and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

RCMP say U.S. authorities told them Melanson then broke his conditions by continuing to communicate with the young victim and as a result was charged with other crimes, including uttering threats and criminal harassment.
Melanson was detained and released on June 7, but RCMP say he breached his conditions again and was arrested on December 11 on additional child pornography charges.
He has been in custody since and is scheduled to appear in Amherst provincial court on January 28.
“Over the past year, we have worked closely with Homeland Security Investigations, New York State Police and a social media platform to collect evidence and advance our cases,” said Const. Mandy Edwards said in a press release.
“We rely on our partnerships across the country and internationally to identify people who produce and distribute child pornography and to provide child victims with the help they need from law enforcement and resources support. »
