Your television point of view probably has everything to do with your generation.
Baby-boomers? You may remember when Color TV has arrived.
Gen x? For you, it was the cable – probably defined by MTV.
Millennials? Welcome to HD, when high definition channels have brought new clarity.
And after that? Well, it is a digital story that is still in writing – and offers many reasons to think that the best age of entertainment is always in advance.
“During the 19 years that I worked at Midco, we went from a few analog digital channels, from 30 HD channels to 100, and now this is the norm that almost all channels are HD,” said Bill Chatwell, senior technology vice-president.
“There was the advent of DVR, when we started presenting this to cable customers about 20 years ago, and now we have become IPTV who more rationalize your experience of vision and entertainment, while inaugurating a fascinating new technology.”
Here are three ways in which Midco’s television experience is evolving today.
Midcotv: an IPTV solution with more options than ever
Welcome to a better way to watch TV.
Available via a modern flow box on the size of a card game or as a downloadable application, Midcotv has a modern program guide and integrated DVR technology. Technology is called IPTV or Internet protocol television. Using IPTV, television content comes via the Internet instead of using cable or satellite methods.
Midcotv also includes features such as “Start over” and “catch up” which allow you to watch the selected programming up to three days in the past – even if you have not recorded them. In addition, you can download any of your streaming services, which makes Midcotv your one -looking visualization shop.
“Depending on your visualization habits, the suggestions fed by AI will provide you with spending less time looking for and more time looking at your Midco channels or programming from your other platforms,” said Catwell. “So whether it is a film displayed on one of our channels or on a streaming service, you will have the opportunity to start watching now or record in the future.”
Midcotv works in tandem with Midco Internet, offering customers the advantages of the best connections and speeds.
TV at no cost? It’s for real
Many people watch their budgets and there is a new option via Midco to watch TV for free.
His name is Midcostream, and he uses fast or free advertising television technology. You don’t have to pay for a subscription, although you are looking at advertisements with your programs, and there is no option to save content.
“It’s linear television – or fundamental cable television – you are watching everything that is at the time,” said Catwell. “We took place at the end of last year, and customers who choose Midcostream can receive more than 200 channels.”
The options include unionized programs, films, special interest content and certain news and sports.
“He has no live sports and new ones, but this is a way for customers who use Midco Internet to always receive television content,” said Catwell.
Increased modification of programming agreements
Today, programmers are faced with an evolutionary landscape of growing production costs as well as more content delivery methods. Consequently, Midco continues continuously on behalf of its customers thanks to programming agreements.
“We make sure that we can receive content at a price that offers our customers the value,” said Catwell. “But the cost to produce content has increased with live programs like sports, so it is a challenge that it is with local programs or various sports and information channels. In the end, we are trying to create channel packages so that we are able to provide content to customers at the lowest possible price.”
Just in time for the baseball season, Midco subscribers can now access the TWINS television channel as part of a new agreement, offering all the Minnesota Twins matches. Find it via the Midcotv 4 package on channel 638.
“Midco Sports is also a differentializer for us, presenting a lot of Division I and Division II games,” said Catwell. “We broadcast more hockey content, and we offer easy access to Midco Sports Plus on our Midcotv platform for subscribers.”
What’s waiting for us
Technology technology continues to evolve and make the offers of today even better in the future.
“We laid the foundations with Midcotv for revolutionary things to come,” said Catwell. “I think you will see that fast channels continue to develop, and the way you interact with our guide will continue to evolve. The research function will become even more intelligent with regard to the relevant recommendations depending on what you look at and your interaction with Midcotv. ”
The future will be to make it faster and easier to find content you appreciate, he predicts.
“Our platform is supposed to be the place where all your content is gathers.”
