Start something new is hard. There are bumps along the way, but sometimes even new arrivals have managed to run. During the flavor of the end of last week (and the weekend!), We continued to think that we could not believe that it was the first year of the festival.

But the people of Omni Pga Frisco are not neophytes. They know exactly what they are doing. So at the end of April, during a press conference, when They said They wanted to bring the largest festival of food, drinks, music and golf course in northern Texas, we knew it. This is exactly what they were going to do.

What was it?

The festival started on May 1 at 7 p.m. with the Masters of Taste Dinner, an experience of four dishes featuring expert signature cocktails. On May 2, there was the Fork & Fire reception with some of the most famous leaders in the country. Savor Celebrity Golf Invitational started on May 3, and that night, there was the best of the Texas reception with the best culinary talents in the state and an intimate performance of Midland. The festival finished on May 4 with the Margaritas & Mariachis celebrity brunch at 10 a.m., a feast inspired by Tex-Mex with award-winning chief Aarón Sánchez.

The Celebrity golf tournament has added even more power and excitation of stars to the weekend, attracting a host of notable characters from cinema, television and sports. Among the participants were actor and winemaker Kurt Russell, the co-host of this evening Nischelle Turner, co-host of Good Morning America and Michael Strahan, actress and actor of Chicago, Chicago Star Jake Lockett, actor and actor Anthony Anderson, actress and writer Aimée Garcia, former NFL Jima and legendary actress Dennis. Celebrities did not only stay on the course – they also took place with participants throughout the day, appreciating the various offers of food and drinks.

The tournament took place in Fields Ranch West, an 18-hole-72 course designed by the legendary golf architect Beau Welling. A real masterpiece, the course offers a dynamic experience that delights and challenges players of all levels.

The first place team – Nicole Peterson, Cathy Lee, Brian Lapin, Kevin Curran and Chef Onwuachi – each won a cadeau certificate of $ 1,000 for personalized Lucchese boots. The finish of second place Dustin Lederman, Jonathan Cunningham, Lindsay Dearmond, Adam Dearmond and Ross Butler received classic hats from Stetson.

The Midland of Country Music has brought its mixture of Vintage Country Fanfaron and Modern Flair to an intimate crowd, offering a high energy set filled with fans like “Drinkin ‘Problem” and “Cheatin’ Songs”. The trio has kept the party with tributes that appeal to the crowd to country icons, including an interpretation of kotting “boottin ‘boogie” from Brooks & Dunn which made fans dance at night.

Bring the culture of Texas to the plate

Savor has more than lived his name, offering a carefully organized experience that celebrated the rich culinary identity of Texas. The guests had the opportunity to engage in a range of out -of -competition dishes, such as perfect shrimp tacos in the spring of Chef Fearting, garnished with a refreshing mango salad, and a luxurious caviar presentation of Mister Charles recommended by Michelin. Harvest Shackleford chef Shackleford at The Masonic served a daring Texas style plate with chest pastrami, corn chile puree, corn salsa and corn bread. Now it’s a tasty tribute to the Lone Star pride.

Of course, no food celebration of Texas would be complete without meat, and the event is delivered to the shovel. The Vana chief of the heritage table served a tasty lamb sausage accompanied by a puree of silky carrots, while chief Rojas de Trick Rider offered smoked beef coasts in the seconds. Chef Tesar, renowned for his mastery of meat, seduced guests with a richly flavored beef taco – one of the most discussed dishes of the event.

The addition of a playful and nostalgic touch to the evening was Dr Pepper’s float – a beloved Texas classic – surmounted by an ethereal and edible cloud from Dr Pepper – Flormed foam. It was the perfect soft finish for a night that captured the essence of Texas through flavor, flair and creativity.

What made the flavor so special?

The event was intimate. Some festivals of food and wine may feel overwhelming – and it may not be a bad thing! But here, food and drinks events aimed to savor flavors, connections and moments. We saw guests chat with chefs and take selfies. Since the atmosphere was more discreet, the chiefs also seemed comfortable. Everything felt, well, pleasant.

Another thing that made Savor so special was the caliber of chefs at hand. All the local chefs were fantastic – the best of the best in Dallas and beyond. The savor chefs have stolen are among the best of the best in the whole country.

Chef Onwuachi, for example, is on the list of the most influential people of 2025 in Time. And good luck to try to get a reservation in his restaurant in New York Tatiana. However, he was there, serving as delicious Hamachi Guisado (Yellowtail, Castelvetrano Olive and Red Onion). Or, there was Jillian Vose, one of the best barmans on the planet Earth, making drinks, some of which were the best absolute cocktails I have ever had.

Or, you will find yourself trying dishes that you think for very, for a very long time, like the daytime scallops with a pile of arrow with banana, mango aguachile, grilled peanut salsa, mango fruit pearls. (We each had about five of the scallops, alone, they were magnificent and could easily eat five more.)

We did not stay on the property because we are local in northern Texas, but we met people who had stolen just for the event. We could imagine enjoying the complex and golf, and caps the days with unforgettable culinary evenings, with Sunday brunch, bringing the festival closer.

We thank Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa for organized and treated!
