Miscellaneous: problems in higher education Sponsor the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards to honor the colored students who have excelled in class and on the sports field. Inspired by the legend of Tennis Arthur Ashe, Jr.’s commitment to education and love for tennis game, American colleges and universities are invited to participate in this annual award program by appointing their exceptional sports scholars. In addition to their athletic capacity and their academic performance, sports researchers Arthur Ashe Jr. demonstrate a commitment to community service and student leadership.

Sports honors:
- 2023-2024 Indoor: A member of the 4x400m team winning the bronze medal that set a new school record of 3: 14.69.
- 2022-23 Indoor: a member of the bronze medal winning 4 x 400 relays in the America East championship.
- Gained gold at 500 meters at the Liberty Open.
- 2023 Outdoor: the ECAC champion in the 400 hedges, displaying a 52.27 brand … won gold, broke his personal record and published the fastest second in school history (52.16) in the 400 meters of the America East Conference Championships … also made gold as part of the 4×400 championship of the UMM IC4A in Ualbany… participated in the Squad IC4A IC4A of the UMBC of the UMS… in the IC4A championship in Ualbany … where the quartet finished in 3: 20.03.
Community service activities:
- Volunteering at the resuscitation unit in trauma at the University of Maryland University Medical Center implies reapplying shelves, transporting patients in berries and helping nurses and doctors in patient management.
- Volunteer at Howard County Food Bank by helping them monitor stock stocks, guide buyers to the items they need for grocery store and to be hospital aid.
- Serve as mentor on and off the track for young peers in the departments of chemistry, biology and physics, mainly for students with interest in the pursuit of careers related to research.
- Carry out virtual research with the migraine laboratory at the Iowa University and in person research on the UMBC campus with the Dr. Minjourng Kyoung Biochemistry Laboratory in the Meyerhoff building where we study how metabolic nutrients are organized inside cells to discover markers for cancer cells compared to normal cells.
