Mr. Carney and Donald Trump agreed to meet soon. The liberals fell below a majority, but it was still an amazing turnaround for a party that was 20 points behind in the ballot boxes three months ago. Pierre Poilievre, the leader of the Conservative Party of the opposition, who was about to become Prime Minister before the revival of the Liberals, lost his seat.
