More than 100 students from the Wright State University and their families met in the Student Union Atrium to celebrate an important step: end their first year College of Science and Mathematics.
Hosted by the college, the event recognized the hard work and the perseverance of first -year students with food, prices, games and photos. Four students also received a random $ 500 scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year.
“We are here to celebrate the achievements of our first -year students,” said Ayşe şahin, Ph.D., dean of the College of Science and Mathematics. “They finished two semesters of rigorous training in science and mathematics with us, and they worked hard and learned a lot.”
The event gave students the opportunity to socialize with its peers and mix with the teachers.
The Major of first -year neuroscience, Anmol Saini, said that he appreciated the meaning of the community he had known since his arrival in Wright State.
“It’s more personalized, you can better connect with other people,” said Saini. “It’s really edifying.”
Şahin hopes that the celebration will inspire other Wright state colleges to recognize first -year students in the same way.
“I really hope that the other colleges will be inspired to do the same,” she said.
