A team of Hopkins Middle School students from Fremont won first place in the National Science Bowl. It was a redemption for the team that arrived second last year.

In the final, they defeated strong settling Middle School with a score of 144 to 42. In addition to the title and the trophy, the students also won $ 5,000 for the Mathematics and School Sciences program.
The competition is sponsored by the American Department of Energy. Local and regional competitions begin in January. According to the Ministry of Energy, nearly 10,000 students are competing each year.
