This is KCRA three short stories at six. Another covered and dark day for northern California. But the conditions are starting to cleare themselves. Dirk Verdoorn follows these changes. Two years for a series of sets in series in Davis. The event, held to honor one of the victims before the suspect’s trial starting tomorrow. The runners are launching their shoes today for a good cause. The five-ks were held today in Sacramento and the young boy whom he honors spring showers in Northern California. Persistent rain and cloudy sky there. It is a video from Sacramento county earlier in the day, but wet weather ends and begins to cleare themselves. Thank you for joining us here at six years. I am Andrea Flores and I am Cecil Hannibal. The sky is starting to have fun tonight. So let’s go and take a live look outside. Right now, on the left side of your screen is Sacramento, and on the right side is given Summit along the 80s Interstate. The sunniest weather and the warmer temperatures are coming back this week. We want to check with our meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn. What do we look at? DAGGER. YEAH. Did you say Sunshine? SUN? YES. There is a little sun in forecasts. We see breaks in the cloud cover right now. Get fresher air. A drier air that actually moves. And that will help clean our sky over the next few hours. So we have a little blue. You can always see that we have the clouds lying around here in Sacramento. But in the night tonight, these guys will really have fun. But we still have precipitation. Not much. Most are in Nevada. We see some showers on the east side of Sierra. You can see that North End of Lake Tahoe is doing a little snow. We also see these showers near Chilcoot and moving from north to south and simply disappearing when they move. Here in northern California, we are considering quantities of rain. And again, we had record precipitation yesterday in Stockton, we had more than an inch of rain. These are the last 48 hours. So our total storm here we had 1.06. In Stockton, we had 1,500 in Sacramento, 3/10 in Yuba City, more than half a pump in Quincy, more than three-quarters of Blue Canyon. So some decent numbers in the Sierra Arnold 0.620,69 and Pollock Pines and Lake Tahoe overcome a third of thumb. But the clouds are starting to have fun. We see this drier air move in, and this will mix this low cloud cover. So expect to have a clear sky tonight and temperatures that will fall from the middle to the 40th anniversary by tomorrow morning. We will therefore have a compensation sky. And that means a lot of sun for tomorrow. We have a warmer weather. We are going to examine more closely how it will warm up and how long it will last. Coming now, let’s go back to you. ALL RIGHT. Dirk, thank you very much. Is happening tomorrow. The test process should start for the accused. Davis Serial couplebing suspect, Carlos Dominguez faces a murder and tried accusations of murder in the deadly stabbed series in 2023. Two men were killed and a woman was seriously injured in these attacks. Dominguez had previously pleaded not guilty due to madness, and two doctors were appointed to assess it and present these documents in court before the trial. The Yolo County Prosecutor’s Office says that at the hearing of tomorrow morning, the selection of the jury will begin. Certain additional motion decisions will be heard once in progress. The trial should last ten weeks before the start of the trial of tomorrow. The family of one of the victims. David Bro. Meet today to mark two years since he was killed. David Bro was known by many in the community as the guy of compassion. He was stabbed to death in Central Park on April 27, 2023. This afternoon, his family invited the community to come together in his memory on the compassion, that Bro encouraged the city to install. In 2013. We talked to her sister, who says she hopes that her compassion message will live. I think he would have liked to be recalled not as him, but as a person who represented compassion and more important than his message. And at his last day, he really focused on raising awareness of this by asking people their definition. And and help people understand how to abandon some of the things they wanted, demonstrate self-compassion and draw on their own empathy as much as possible. Two days after the death of Bro, the UC Davis student, 20, Kareem Abdul Najim was stabbed to death. May 1. Kimberly Guillory was also stabbed, but she survived Vancouver, Canada. 11 people died and dozens were injured after a person crossed a crowded Filipino Heritage Festival. The victims, aged 5 to 65. The driver has now been identified as Chi Adam Lowe, 30, and was placed in police custody. He now faces accusations of murder, eight second degree murder leaders. Officials say that other charges are possible. Investigators say he was on their radar and had history of mental illness. The acting police chief of Vancouver, quotes the darkest day in the history of Vancouver. But say that the attack is not an act of terrorism. Back here, closer to you in Lathrop, a driver is in detention and is now faced with accusations of conduct under the influence. Lathrop police last night received a call for a car that led to the Boathouse car park in Lakeside Drive. He hit a bench park, then left. The agents found this driver and say they have a blood alcohol level almost three times the legal limit. The driver was arrested and reserved for accusations of Dui, and the vehicle was seized. Lodi police carried out a handful of arrests during a recent DUI checkpoint last Saturday. Lodi police said more than 770 cars have experienced the checkpoint on Kettleman Lane. Three people were arrested for Dui. One was arrested as a crime mandate and 15 drivers were cited for driving without a license or with a permit suspended or revoked. A reminder of the CHP according to which reckless driving is not only dangerous, but also against the law. CHP shares this photo with the social media of a driver who was surprised making donuts and driving recklessly. All this occurred Friday evening near Jackson Road and Eagles Nest Road. The driver was cited. Then, as you can see here, this vehicle has been towed. CHP encourages drivers to be intelligent and drive responsible. The CHP helps to make sure that children know how to make their bikes safely. CHP organizing a free bicycle safety event for children today at the Greenhaven Pocket Farmers Market. It consisted of a five -station bicycle rodeo to teach children to safe driving skills they have to know, as stopped at stop panels and red lights. Balance of the cyclist, turning and maintaining a safe speed. The managers also checked the helmets and made sure that the bikes were properly adjusted. The CHP says that this event and others as it is a question of protecting members of the community. Just important for, you know, teach children, you know that traffic safety. Obviously, as a CHP, we don’t want to see people get injured while they ride. So make sure that the public and the community go up safe. The CHP tells us that today’s event took place before the month of cycling, which officially starts in a few days on May 1. It is an incredible experience when seeing 3,500 children take off, all wearing blue shirts and running for Rhett. It’s really cool. You have heard that many children appeared for a good cause. Thousands of them and their families have launched their shoes in Sacramento today for the race. Because you can race five k. The race in Sacramento is in honor of a boy named Rhett Kcra 3. Erin Heft has their history. Are you ready to run? YEAH. The race for Rhett was launched in honor of my son Rhett, who died at his birth in 1997. We brought him home. He met his big brother, Big Sister, and everything was great until the age of about three months. And he started to have complications at the age of seven, Rhett Sievers died of complications related to cerebral paralysis. I use the race to cross the sorrow to lose it, and I ran my first half-marathon for a year of his death, and when I crossed this finish line, I looked at my family and my friends and I said, we have to do it. We have to run for Rhett. And that’s how it has become. It’s really just a show to see. Every 3000 children is just a sea of baby blue down. A non -profit organization as a whole. We have collected about 1.6 million dollars since we were founded in 2007. Rhett could not run or walk, and we are going to schools now, and we tell the children that we want them to be Rhett’s legs and we head to Rhett. Inspiring children from the region. We plan to shop together because we have a path that is next to our house along the river. We always like to make events that have a good cause behind them. Among those who inspired the school students, Rhett would have attended. Our primary school is the place where Rhett would have left if it was in good health enough to attend primary school. His elder brothers and sisters have attended our school. A special day influencing the next generation of athletes on behalf of Rhett Seavers. Give back to the community of children who now raise its name
