The Art & Soul gallery in Santa Barbara, will present a new immersive biophilia: nature inside, opening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 1 with a reception from first Thursday to wine and cheese at 1323 State St.

“This show reflects on our relationship with the natural world through art that honors the cycles of life and renewal,” said the gallery.

At the heart of the exhibition are works by the artist of Santa Barbara Giuliana Mottin, who preserves the ephemeral beauty of nature through fluid watercolors and delicate flowers in a hurry.

According to Art & Soul, the suspended foam sculptures and experimental soil works raise and anchor the display, evoking the concept of soul and soil, a mirror of interior and exterior unity, according to Art & Soul.

At the heart of the gallery, a large -scale textile piece made from recycled materials creates a tactile landscape and resembling grass, representing the cycles of reuse and renewal of nature.

Improving the forest atmosphere, a “path” living plants and trees by the emmarosis flowers leads to an intimate immersion in the central room, the gallery said.

In the anterior room, visitors will find a sculpture of rain recycled by Shelby Scudder suspended above the paintings of Belle Hahn and Tricia Evenson.

The culmination of the show will be an artist’s speech with Mottin and Hahn, as part of the Conversations with artists from the gallery, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 29.

To complete the exhibition, Art & Soul will host workshops on the theme of nature throughout May, as well as the art of ritual performance live from May 16 to 17 with Anima, Theater of the Feminin Underground.
