Sun Country Airlines, which is the official airline of Gopher Athletics, will offer Gopher student-athletes from all 22 programs the opportunity to receive Sun Country Rewards points for their travel in exchange for media outreach and promotion social.
“This is another positive collaboration between Gopher Sports Properties, Dinkytown Athletes and Sun Country Airlines that will directly benefit University of Minnesota student-athletes,” said Jeremiah Carter, Minnesota senior associate for NIL/Politics and risk management. “We are excited and grateful that Sun Country Airlines recognizes the brand power and reach of Gopher student-athletes and chooses to partner with them to amplify their business.”
By 2025, Sun Country Airlines will serve more than 100 airports in the United States, Mexico, Central America, Canada and the Caribbean. “We are excited to give Gopher student-athletes the opportunity to experience our network of more than 100 destinations,” said Grant Whitney, senior vice president and chief revenue officer. “Whether they’re looking for adventure or heading home to visit friends and family, we look forward to supporting their connection to our brand.”
Learfield’s hometown team Gopher Sports Properties – the media and technology company that powers college athletics – is the exclusive media rights holder for Minnesota Athletics and oversees all sponsorship deals on behalf of the Gophers.
