The slide of the first round is now a total free fall for the quarter-arre Shemer Sanders. With each choice of passage, its potential income as part of its recruit agreement become more and smaller.
At some point – and we are probably already there – SheDer should consider its alternatives. We might be to go back to university football for another season.
Yes, the rules of the NCAA prevent it. He entered the project. He accepted advantages via the invitation of the NFL to the screening combination.
But we have learned a very important thing about university football in recent years. Most, if not all, the rules of the NCAA violate antitrust federal laws. And with the players who are now gaining millions in zero, why should a player with remaining eligibility come back?
No one tested it. Shemer could. If he fails, he could then sign a recruit agreement and join the team that finally writes him.
At this point, he would do much more in zero money than he will do during the first year of a recruit agreement. (At one point, he would do more in 2025 as an university quarter than he would do in the four years of his recruit contract.) He could also assemble a year of more film, reinstate the project next year and see what is going on.
Here is another torsion he should consider. Do not return to Colorado. His 2026 draft stock could be improved by finding a new team and proving that he can play at a high level far from his father / coach, deion.
It’s an idea. One possibility. A way to make chicken salad. And a path to the realization of more money this year, with a chance to enter the NFL in a better draft next year.
