Meet V Teamer George Barela, a proud Native American from the Piro-Manso tribe, whose roots date back to the 16th century. Growing up in the Temecula Valley, known to his people as the “Land of the Mist,” George brings a unique perspective to his role at Verizon, blending his deep respect for cultural heritage with his passion for the transformative power of technology.
“I want to help underserved communities, especially indigenous ones, see what’s possible,” he says in the video above. “We strive to give them the tools they need to grow without losing what makes them unique. »
And at Verizon, that’s exactly what it does. George works hard to expand connectivity in rural areas, strengthen our Verizon Frontline message, and create learning opportunities for younger generations by helping communities prepare for the future. He also volunteers for Verizon’s frontline crisis response team, helping to restore service or establish new connections when it matters most.
And this is just the beginning. Watch now to learn more about George and the incredible work he does.
