Valdosta – The schools of the city of Valdosta announce the appointment of Sean Mullins as a new executive director of technology.

Release:

Schools in the city of Valdosta are proud to announce the appointment of Sean Mullins as a new executive director of technology. With more than a decade of experience in leadership in educational technology and more than a million dollars in secure and successful state and federal subsidies, Mr. Mullins brings a richness of knowledge and innovation in the district. He will officially start his role on July 1, 2025.

Mr. Mullins was recently director of technology and digital learning of Lumpkin County schools. In this role, he directed the development and execution of a technological strategy at the district level, managed an annual technological budget of $ 600,000 and directed the main infrastructure projects, including the implementation of a new student information system and a single connection platform. His leadership in this respect has led more solid cybersecurity protocols, an improvement in educational integration and an improvement in digital learning experiences throughout the district.

In addition to its leadership at the district level, Mr. Mullins is also a long -standing computer instructor at the University of Northern Georgia. His experience in higher education has helped shape his approach to professional development and educational design, ensuring that technology is a tool that improves – not complications – teaching and learning.

Mr. Mullins holds a master’s degree in applied computer sciences from Kennesaw State University, as well as a Baccalaureate in Computer Sciences and an education partner at the University of Northern Georgia. Its history in the educational and technical fields position it well to direct the schools of the city of Valdosta in a continuous digital transformation.

“I am honored to join the schools of the city of Valdosta as an executive director of technology,” said Mullins. “I can’t wait to work alongside educators, staff and community partners to build innovative, secure and fair technological solutions that support students’ success and district growth.”

The Superintendent, Dr. Craig Lockhart, shared: “We are delighted to welcome Mr. Mullins in the schools of the city of Valdosta.

Please join us to welcome Sean Mullins to the Wildcat family.
