The story then follows Jackie as she returns to Colorado after spending the summer in New York, and the reader is immediately struck by a delicate interaction between her and Isaac, another Walter boy. The character of Isaac seems different from the first book. For example, we learn that he had sex in the car a few minutes before taking Jackie at the airport, which is out of character.
Isn’t it that I don’t appreciate a funny scene or coarse moments, but the line “did you lower someone here?” Do not roll the tongue and make me want to tear my eyes tearing myself.
As the novel progressed, the beginning felt by recalling the first book, with cute moments between Cole and Jackie and the mentions of the connection of the Walter family. I also appreciated the way in which Novak seemed to be a little more accent on how Jackie was in mourning because the first book – and the spectacle in particular – seemed too much to stimulate the fact that both parents And Her sister died the same day several months ago.
However, towards the middle of the novel, confusion has really started to settle.
Each character – apart from Jackie, Cole and now Isaac – seemed out of words, when they all had more substantial roles in the first book.
In addition, although I like Cole and Jackie and I appreciated their Romanesque arc in the first book – Will -They are not flirted, with a satisfactory end – it seemed that their romance was re -emerged from nowhere in the following.
When Jackie returns to Colorado later, she didn’t want to be with Cole because she always treated her (understandable) sorrow. The two then attended the return dance and seemed to go out together, without accumulation. To say that I was confused is an understatement. No mention was made about their couple and the last time I knew, I thought Jackie took room for herself.
This account of Jackie and Cole dating and not dating continued essentially for the entire second half of the story, creating an exhausting scenario. In fact, I started to feel neck pain of the cervical boost that Novak bowed to me.
At the end of the book, I was just ready to finish, and Novak cemented this feeling with a generic fence line.
“My return to Walter boys” was a huge disappointment for me, but I always keep hope for season two of the television show (which should be released by the end of the year),Crossing my fingers will not be as unbearable.
