Dear FSU family,
Our hearts are heavy after the tragedy that took place on April 17. We are in mourning with families and friends who have lost someone they like. And we are with all those who have been injured and who are recovering now. It has shaken us all, and I want you to know: we are there for you.
Course and commercial operations will resume on Monday April 21. I know it will not look like a normal week. This is the last before the final, and many of you always treat what happened. Please take care of yourself. If you need time or support, hold your hand. Students must contact their instructors to obtain help with class work or accommodation. Professors and staff must connect with their dean or their supervisor.
No one should go through this alone. The support is here:
- Students who need mental health support should contact our team of advice and psychological services at (850) 644-Discours (8255).
- In addition, the victims’ defense program offers free, confidential and compassionate assistance to FSU students. Call 24/7 (850) 644-7161, SMS (850) 756-4320 or send an email to the victims-dvocate@fsu.edu.
- Employees who need help must contact the PAE at (850) 644-2288 free professional consulting services.
We will pass through it by leaning on each other. The FSU is strong because of its inhabitants – and I believe in this community with all my heart.
Sincerely,
Richard McCullough
President
