New calendar year 2023 data released by Elsevier Data Repository in fall 2024 names 14 Illinois State University scientists among the top two percent (100,000) cited researchers worldwide. Data is based on the August 1, 2024 snapshot from Scopus, updated through the end of citation year 2023. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields, and reviewed for citations on a single year and career quotes. Nine of Illinois State’s 14 scientists were on both lists.

“This recognition of these 14 faculty members demonstrates the impact of Illinois State researchers who contribute and influence on a global scale,” said Craig C. McLauchlan, associate vice president of the University from Illinois State for research and graduate studies. “Not all disciplines use citation metrics, but in those that do, being included here is a testament to the impact of our scientific and creative productivity. The influence of these faculty also helps meet our institutional vision of connecting teaching, research, innovation and cross-cultural understanding, outlined in our new strategic plan, Excellence by design.”

The 14 professors represent four different colleges at the University.
