Cedar Rapids, Iowa (KCRG) – Thursday, the Iowa Board of Education heard potential changes to state standards for nursery school courses in the 12th year.
They stressed the importance of ensuring that students connect the sciences to their daily life. A given example was to use the local soil or the lake water to conduct experiences or research.
The presenters say they are trying to distinguish between the study program and the standards.
The complete document mentions evolutionary history when it covers common ancestry and diversity.
“Our high-quality instruction documents were not up to the peer in 2015. They finally get there, we get good things now that are finally coming out and therefore being sure that the state is aware of some of the things that come out like high quality structured materials, as well as how they adapt to their children, how do you take this material and the relevant and valid meeting for their classrooms.”
The main scientific fields mentioned in today’s presentation were life, physique, land and space, engineering, technology and society.
