On January 7, 1980, Chuck Mikowski crossed WZZM doors for his first day of work. After 45 years of dedicated service, he retired.

He is very rarely on the other side of the camera for 13 on your side, but there is no doubt that his work in the engineering service has helped the station through decades of technological transitions.

For 33 years of its 45 years of dedicated service, Chuck managed the radio engineering department.
He has not only witnessed the history of broadcasting: he did it.
From the WZZM management through the analog radiudiffusion switch to digital signals to the maintenance of the broadcast tower on your side, Chuck was also pilot of Tégna Suas, organizing the training program for drones.
Chuck has the honor of being the oldest employee of WZZM.
“The unequaled dedication of Chuck, the in -depth expertise in engineering and tireless dissemination and engagement to maintain our facilities were essential to the success of WZZM,” said 13 by your side, President and Managing Director Dan Baylog when Chuck’s retirement was announced. “For 45 years, Chuck succeeded in both 645 three miles and at the issuer’s site, often at odd hours of the day, ensuring that everything is going well. This is one of these behind the scenes that we rarely see, and its absence will undoubtedly be.”

Chuck plans to spend more time with his family and retired grandchildren.
