Health insurance actions have called patients today.
Tapré lower by Unitedhealth Group (Oneh)) back of his forecasts For 2025 – The news left the giant’s shares down approximately 22% – the group drops on Thursday. (To summarize Investor live cover of Today’s trade here.) The health care sector of the S&P 500 finished approximately 0.6% less.
Several other large insurance companies have joined United in the list of the best declines of the S&P 500 today. Humana (Hum) was down approximately 7%. Upward health (ELV) fell 2.4% and CVS health (CVS) Slipped 1.8%.
The news has also weighed on Dow industrialists, of which United is a key member. The blue chip index dropped by 1.3%, while the S&P 500 ended slightly higher. (Learn more about How the dow works here – and how Unitedhealth, in particular, Hit the index today here.)
Nine of the 30 components of the Dow ended the day below, but only two – Unitedhealth and Nvidia (Nvda) – has been reduced more than 2%.
Some other health stocks have increased, including the pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly (Lly), which was raised by 14% per Drug trial news.
