“And you say, this guy is stuck in another century, not another decade. And he represents nothing to do with the future of our movement. I can accept it. You are not really going to hurt my feelings. So, maybe we can have a kind of friendly split here,” he added.

As progressive Tend to be very vocal on LGBTQ rights, Carville proposed that there should be a “schism” within the Democratic Party.

Carville continued by saying: “They will never run against a republican … All they do is run against other democrats. I do not understand very well why you are so impatient to have the word democrat in the description of what you are doing. But perhaps we can have a friendly split here. And you are talking about your path, we go in our sense, and after the elections, we can see how good we can find it.”

Carville, who became famous for having worked on the campaign of former president Bill Clinton in 1992, listed several factions within the Democratic Party, notably the Justice Party, the Workers’ Party and the Socialist Party.

“The only thing I would ask is not to use the word democratic in any title you have, because most of the democrats I know who present themselves to functions do not want your name, do not want you to be part of the agreement,” said the veteran democratic strategist. “They would surely be happy to take your vote. Who would not do it? Everyone wants to get as many votes as they can. Maybe you find your own name. And by the way, nothing against the elections, you can sit down and do as is done in parliamentary governments or governments around the world.”
