Anyone who was at the Five Guys restaurant at 1400 I Street NW on Saturday April 5 between 3:30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. may have been exposed to the measles virus, according to DC Health.

The DC Department of Health says that a person with a confirmed measles diagnosis ate in a local restaurant in early April.

Anyone who was at the Five Guys restaurant at 1400 I Street NW on Saturday April 5 between 3:30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. may have been exposed to the measles virus, according to DC Health.

Symptoms of measles develop in two stages.

The first step begins seven to 14 days after the exhibition and often has a fever of more than 101 degrees with a flowing nose, red and aqueous eyes and a cough. The second step occurs three to five days after the start of the initial symptoms and consists of an eruption on the face which is gradually spreading to the rest of the body.

DC Health says that a person with measles is contagious from four days before the eruption appeared up to four days after its emergence.

Those who were perhaps exposed to measles and who are not immune must contact their health care provider or DC Health at 844-493-2652 to obtain advice.

Those who have symptoms must immediately isolate and stay away from others, then call a health professional. DC Health says that anyone with symptoms should call in advance before going to the office of a health care provider or in the emergency room to inform them of any exposure to measles.

This is the second known case from measles to DC this year. DC health confirmed a positive case of measles at the end of March In a person who has mounted on an Amtrak train for the Union station.
