Florida State University Information Technology Services (ITS) Recently, the campus community for a half-day conference devoted to shaping the future of technology and innovation at university.
The Vitrine Rise Together – An acronym for research and teaching, innovation and modernization, security and compliance, and the commitment and success of students – presented three session blocks with 15 presentations of teachers, trainees and students. Participants had the chance to find out about technological progress on the FSU campus. The event also included a poster session where its trainee students displayed their research.
“It was inspiring to see so many members of the FSU community come together to engage with the innovations transforming our campus,” said Jonathan Fozard, Vice-President of the FSU and Director of Information. “We are not just experimenting with emerging technologies; We are leaving national conversations and providing real results. The energy and collaboration of this conference make me even more excited by what awaits us at the FSU. ”
In a presentation entitled “Intelligent Building Systems: a deep dive into the workflows of agency AI”, the analyst of the planning of corporate resources Sathish sundaramoory explained how artificial intelligence (AI) of the agency (IA) improves efficiency in various disciplines. The agentic AI refers to artificial intelligence systems designed to carry out tasks independently, making decisions and taking measures without human intervention. These systems use automatic learning, data analysis and predictive algorithms to optimize workflows and improve productivity.
Sunday has highlighted the differences between the models of AI in large language and the reasoning of AI motifs, emphasizing the continuous importance of human involvement to provide the context and respond to the limits of AI systems.
During the second block of presentation, Derek Koooi, developer of emerging technology for sound, as well as the trainees Zachary Greif and Jason Hamilton, presented “Microsoft Mesh and immersive media”. Participants explored Microsoft Mesh, a platform that allows users to connect to immersive 3D environments. Microsoft Mesh improves educational experiences and in the workplace by allowing participants to interact in virtual realities, promoting a feeling of presence and collaboration as if they were physically together.
“The Rise Together Showcase is a fantastic opportunity to have an overview of all the innovative work we do with campus partners and colleagues,” said Kooo. “It is inspiring to see all the incredible projects and the different disciplines working together to push FSU to new heights. My favorite part is to see our trainees full of excitement showing their hard work of the semester with posters, videos and live demonstrations. ”
During the final session block, the member of the faculty of educational design John L. Crow presented “the integration of AI into online courses in the humanities: future challenges and orientations”. He explained how artificial intelligence transforms online education, in particular in courses in human sciences. The presentation has covered the use of AI for the design of the courses, the creation of content, the notation and the analysis of the results at the Florida State University and in other institutions. He also underlined the implementation of a virtual assistant focused on AI to support students’ learning. Participants acquired an overview of the strategies that have succeeded, which were not and how this experiences can shape future teaching methods improved by AI.
