Two unions approve Cuomo before the primary mayor Democrat

Two main city unions – The Council of Hotel Tradies and the Building Services Union 32BJ – approve of former governor Andrew Cuomo before the primary of Democratic mayor crowded in June, Ny1 learned.

The hotel tradies council represents 40,000 hotel and non -managerial game employees in New York and New Jersey.

“In these difficult times for New Yorkers, it is essential that we have a mayor with a proven history of effective government management to lead us to a better future,” wrote Rich Maroko, president of the Ny Hotel & Gaming Trades Council, in a statement before the approval obtained by NY1.

“This is why we approve of Andrew Cuomo to be the next mayor of New York,” he said, highlighting the support by Cuomo of union jobs in the game and hotel industry.

“Now, especially since our union addresses a renegotiation of our hotel contract on the scale of the city which will determine the means of subsistence of our members and their families for the next decade, we need a leader who understands what is at stake and we will have our backs through all of this,” added Maroko.

32BJ represents approximately 90,000 employees of the real estate service such as security guards, bus drivers and food services workers.

“New York needs a strong mayor who has a vision and a plan to deliver for workers in our big city. Someone who has shown that they are with members of 32BJ and will continue to be. Someone who has demonstrated the know-how to lead in times of crisis and who has actually led a complicated government system”, Manny Pastreich, president of 32BJ Seiu, told NY1 in a statement.

“Andrew Cuomo is equipped to resist attacks against our city that threaten our finances, our jobs, our public transport, our health care, our social security and our rights. He has concrete plans to combat our housing and health workers as mayor and as a governor, he has shown how to deliver for workers, “said Sastreich’s declaration.

The two unions supported Cuomo during his previous governor races.
