SGMC Health recognized Dekoya Wallace, medical assistant at the SGMC Diabetes Management Center, as a recipient of the April prize being extraordinary daily (BEE). This prize honors the members of the non-zero team that go beyond to provide extraordinary care and support.
Wallace was appointed by its practice director, who praised his exceptional dedication and leadership during a transition period within the department. When additional support was necessary, it intervened voluntarily to assume a variety of responsibilities beyond its usual role. His commitment ensured that daily operations have remained transparent and that each patient continued to receive the high quality care they are waiting for and deserve.
“Dekoya went beyond her role as a medical assistant,” wrote her manager. “She worked on the registration and payment offices, managed incoming calls, completed her essential tasks,” trained two new employees of front staff and has always maintained her responsibilities as a medical assistant. All the problems that occurred in the clinic, she has never managed to fear. It is essentially a phenomenon, and I am extremely proud and appreciated.
The BEE price is awarded monthly to recognize non -zero staff members, including patient care technicians, nursing assistants and medical assistants, who illustrate extraordinary dedication, teamwork and compassion to support nursing staff. The appointment criteria include qualities such as leadership, attitude and clinical skills.
SGMC Health offers a variety of recognition programs to honor employees who embody its fundamental values of “remarkable people, extraordinary care, human kindness”. To find out more about the price of bees and other recognition programs, visit sgmc.org/recognition.
