As a brewing of trade war between Canada and the United States due to current prices, there are signs of refreshing American feelings in the border cities of New Brunswick.

Dave Tley, a longtime resident of Woodstock, NB, said that he had not crossed the border in the United States since at least November, and that he did not intend to go there soon.

“Because of all the lack of respect that (President Donald) Trump,” he said. “I didn’t like him the first time he was, and even less now.”

Another resident said he’s not going to the United States at all.

“Canadians here, you should support your own country. If you don’t support your own country, where will you finish? He said.

Statistics Canada says 31.9% of less Canadian residents led Canada from the United States in March compared to the same month of last year. This is the third consecutive monthly drop.

For some, it is patriotism. Others are worried about being detained.
