Corpus Christi, Texas – A new family entertainment complex could soon take shape on the South.

Cinergy Entertainment Considering plans for an installation of 90,000 square feet, an entertainment center of $ 40 million near Rodd Field Road and South Padre Island Drive. However, the construction depends on the approval by the municipal council of a CHAPTER 380 Incituration agreement.
The company requests up to $ 4 million in tax reimbursements over the next 15 years, or until this ceiling is reached. The reimbursements would come from part of the new taxes on sales and land that development should generate.

The proposed complex would offer at least six cinema screens, ten bowling lanes, more than 100 arcade games, virtual reality attractions and a bar with a sporty style look.
College students like Jayleen Ingram were delighted with the idea of a new interior place with a variety of activities.

“I think it would actually be a very good idea because yes, there are a lot of similar outdoor activities, but sometimes you need something like inside and there are a lot of different options in this place, not as if there was only one activity to do so that it is not like that was going to be tiring,” said Ingram.
Another student, Naya Zipp, said that the convenience of having everything under the same roof was attractive.
“I guess we have these things here, but it would be great to have a place and have everything, and we can do everything,” said Zipp.

City staff identified the project as a “filling project”, which means that it would use existing infrastructure to promote new development and potentially revitalize the nearby vacant land. Managers believe that development could generate more than a million dollars in the city’s land tax in the ten years following completion.
The municipal council should vote on the incentive agreement on Tuesday meeting. If it is approved, construction would begin with a target completion date set for 2028.
