ECU health experts participate in the symposium on North Carolina disasters to strengthen preparation in eastern North Carolina

The Eastern Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (EHPC) at ECU healthIn partnership with the Southeast Health Care Preparation Region in Wilmington and the Northern Carolina Regional Public Preparation and Response Bureau, organized the North Carolina Disaster Symposium for the ninth time. This two -day conference brought together more than 200 professionals to discuss and share information on disaster management, including preparation, attenuation, response and recovery.

“As disaster preparation evolves, events like these are crucial to equip professionals with the tools and connections necessary to protect their communities,” said Chris Starbuck, director of emergency management at ECU Health. “We are proud to be able to organize and organize events like these which help people prepare for disasters and connect professionals from the region with the resources they may need. The continuous success of the symposium on disasters of North Carolina reflects the dedication and expertise of organizers and participants, including great content of ECU health. ”

The Symposium on Northern Caroline Disasters has become an annual event across the state, attracting experts from across the country. Participants represent a diversified range of sectors, including hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS), public health, long -term care and emergency management staff. The symposium presented stimulating presentations, covering subjects such as teachings learned from Hurricane Helene, strategies for hospitals to manage the first 30 critical minutes of a disaster and the resources available in North Carolina during declared disasters.
