Our chef, Dr. Matt Kerzner, is over 30 years old in Family Business Consulting, which allows us to offer a range of complete services, including succession planning, leadership development and conflict resolution.

What is fun in your business or its history?
The New England Center for Family Business Excellence is not only built on research and experience – the company is powered by passion for education!
Dr. Matt Kerzner, is the author of two books on family businesses and personal development, has spent more than 20 years teaching at New Haven University, and is currently shaping future leaders as a professor in the Hofstra University of Higher Program for Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
He will also join Hartford University as a auxiliary teacher this fall!
Why did you choose Connecticut?
Our founder was born and grew up in Waterbury. It was natural to start the business here.
However, NECFBE has customers across the country.
What is the biggest advantage to operate in Connecticut?
We know the state very well and believe that there are many family businesses that can use our help and support.
There are not many other centers or organizations that support families. Connecticut is ripe for this type of advice.
How do you try to give back to your community?
We make donations to the causes in which we believe and volunteer our time and our students and young professionals.
Where do you see your business in five years? Ten years?
We see a lot of growth for the company in the coming years, with a few new books, an extended podcast and an extended team.
We also hope to launch an accredited family coaching certification course and associate with local universities, among other educational initiatives.
In the long term, we hope to be recognized nationally in coaching and the succession of family businesses.

Above all, our guiding philosophy remains – from gold v’dor, generation to generation, we guide families by honoring the past, by engaging the present and empowering the future.
What is the main thing that decision -makers could implement to make your business more competitive?
The decision -makers could support us by offering companies grants to take advantage of our strategic planning, our coaching, our succession planning and our development of leadership.
