Henderson, nev. – Addressing journalists for the first time since his negotiation Seattle Seahawks At Las Vegas raidersquarter Geno Smith highlighted his relationship with coach Pete Carroll as one of the main reasons for wanting to wear money and black.

“I think there are unfinished affairs,” said Smith on Monday. “And I think that when people think of my story, coach Carroll did a large part. He gave me an opportunity when few people would have.”

Smith played five of his six seasons with the Seahawks under Carroll. Smith served as a backup for two seasons before emerging as the team starter after Russell Wilson was exchanged at Denver Broncos in 2022.

“I’m going to run through a wall for him, and he knows it.”

While serving as a safeguard, Smith said that he always believed that he could be a starter. Carroll too. Smith played 37 games under Carroll and launched 8,641 yards by the pass, 55 affected and 21 interceptions while making two pro Bowl appearances.

“I mean, not weeks, I speak for years to play behind Russell (Wilson), and he never left this thought to stand. And it was so impressive for me,” recalls Carroll. “As soon as we had the opportunity to put him in position to take the lead, I could not wait. And he has been a winner since.”

Carroll’s belief in Smith has created a link between the two which seems unbreakable. Smith called Carroll “legendary” and believes that the will of 73 years to let the players be themselves and its history to win make it an attractive coach to play.

“I’m going to run through a wall for him, and he knows it,” said Smith.

“I mean I could hit this wall before I got there,” replied Carroll.

When Carroll saw the opportunity to trade against Smith, the team did not hesitate to conclude an agreement. The raiders sent a choice of third round of 2025 to Seattle for Smith, who said that he had no grudge on how things ended with the Seahawks.

Smith has since signed a multi -year extension with raiders. Conditions were not disclosed on Monday by raiders, but a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN last week that Smith had a two -year -two dollars extension which can be worth up to $ 85.5 million and includes 66.5 million dollars in guaranteed money.

“Not in an arrogant or arrogant way, but I just think I’m one of the best quarters of the NFL,” said Smith. “I’m here to go there and prove it.”

Carroll is not the only excited by the arrival of Smith. The Director General of Raiders, John Spytek, said that he was delighted to have Smith as a Quarterrière because the veteran’s trip could be an excellent resource for the rest of the team.

Smith even had a video call with Tom Brady once the trade was finalized and was invited to the minority home.

“I went to him and I was lucky to spend about an hour and talk about him and talk about life,” said Smith. “… I want to learn as much as possible from him, the biggest quarter to play the game. I mean, there are so many things you can learn. I think the essential is that I am here to win, and I’m here to do the right things for my teammates, just as he did.”
