  • Jase Robertson shared an update on the health of his father Phil Robertson following his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s on the episode of April 2 of the Without shame with the Robertson family podcast
  • Jase said that the “blunt truth” is that Phil, 78, is “not good” and that “professional care” now have “professional care”

Phil RobertsonThe son Jase Robertson shares an update on the Duck dynasty The health of the patriarch according to its Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

During the April 2 episode of the Without shame with the Robertson family The podcast, Jase – who was joined by his brother Al Robertson and the Cousin Zach Dasher – revealed that Phil, 78, is not doing well.

“The question n ° 1 that I receive wherever I go (it is):” How is your father? “Now I just give the blunt truth.

Jase, 55, then explained how Zach recently visited Phil and had a difficult reaction to see his health drop. “I stopped when Zach was coming out … and I said to myself:” How did it go? “” He remembers. “And Zach has just lost it, you know, and I have somehow realized at this time when you are in these battles day after day, you just compart to you can face it.”

Jase added his father: “We make it comfortable and we do our best. I think that is exactly what you do.”

Zach then described his recent visit with Phil, sharing that the former reality TV star “looked at the westerns in the room” at the time. “I think that when you are in it like you guys, you see the fade. But I hadn’t been or I saw it for a few months. So I come and it’s like” whoa “,” he said.

Zach then took a moment to think about the difficulty of the experience for the patient and his loved ones and the caregivers.

“I said that a lot about dementia and Alzheimer’s dementia. But I think anyone in our audience who lived it … It will resonate with them-that we are talking about the way it steals the memories of those who have the disease,” he said.

“But for me,” he continued, “it also steals the memory of those who take care of people have the disease because you see this slow progression over time, and it’s just difficult to look at.”

Jase said that overall, it was “a difficult journey” visiting Phil. “I did not expect to break down, Jase,” he noted, what Jase replied: “Well, it was difficult, but we appreciate prayers.”

Jase revealed for the first time the diagnosis of his father’s Alzheimer’s Alzheimer’s in December, sharing at the time that Phil was in the “first stages” of the disease, which is “a brain condition which slowly damages memory, reflection, learning and organization of skills” and has no remedy, according to the Cleveland clinic.

“Phil is not doing well,” said Jase in the December 6 episode of Without shame with the Robertson family. “I think I talked about the 1,000th podcast. We were trying to determine the diagnosis, but according to doctors, they are sure that he has a kind of blood disease causing all kinds of problems.”

“And he has the first stages of Alzheimer’s. So, if you put these things together, he simply does not go well. He really has difficulties,” he continued.

At the time, Jase said that his father was eager to go back to work. “I say to myself: ‘Well Phil, you can barely walk without crying in pain, and your memory is not what it was in the past.’ He’s like, “Talk to me.” So he is literally unable to-I think he would agree-to simply sit and have a conversation, “he said.

“We are trying to do a lot to understand how to make it more comfortable and perhaps help with his memory,” he added.

In addition to Jase et al, Phil is the father of Sons Jep and Willie, whom he shares with his wife Kay, known as Miss Kay. Phil also has a daughter named Phyllis of a previous relationship.
