Atlanta, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Dunwoody police service has a new set of eyes in the sky.
The ministry is the first in the state to launch new drone technology improving agents’ response times.
THE Herd security The drone is linked to the Dunwoody police service Real -time crime center. Sgt. Michael Cheek said he could deploy in a few seconds to a call at 911.
“We can steal this drone from here in our real-time crime center,” he said. “All our supervisors on the road are pilots approved by the FAA, so that they can fly from their cars.”
Cheek said the system will improve response times and help agents assess threats to help better identify the necessary resources.
“For criminal surveys, this can absolutely help us identify potential suspicious vehicles, potentially also identify suspects,” he said. “We have resolved several crimes, many crimes, using the herd.”

The safety of herds inaugurated a 97,000 square feet manufacturing plant in Smyrna this week. The installation will be largely dedicated to the assembly of drones.
Cheek says that new technology will never replace people dedicated to protection and service.
“There is nothing that will never replace the police work of the foundation on the field of good quality. It is only an improvement in this,” he said.
The ministry says the drone is only used for criminal investigations and emergency intervention situations.
