Paris was immersed in more political troubles after the presidential hopes of Marine Le Pen of the Fire -Brand Le Pen were destroyed by a ban to present themselves to public functions – because analysts warn that the decision could further destabilize the second economy in the euro zone.
The country underwent another political bomb on Monday after Le Pen, the leader of the far -right national party, was found guilty of EU’s embezzlement and forbidden to present themselves to public functions for five years, with immediate effect. The decision effectively disqualifies the pen of the 2027 prosidential election.
Le Pen vehemently denies any reprehensible act and Monday evening promised to appeal the conviction, which she nicknamed as a “political decision” and a “political decision”.
“I am combative, I did not allow myself to be eliminated like that. I will use all the possible routes to appeal. There is a narrow path. It is indeed very close, but it exists. I will indeed ask as clearly possible that the appeal decision is authorized so that I can be considered as a presidential election,” said the BRAADCASTER TF1.
The judge of the Paris criminal court presiding over the case, Benedicte de Perthuis, denied having pronounced a political verdict on Monday, affirming that no one had “immunity in violation of the rule of law”.
Le Pen’s condemnation has put France’s political establishment on alert high in concerns of potential reaction of its supporters and is concerned that judgment can be considered a political prosecution.
Even some of Le Pen’s political opponents, such as leftist leader Jean-Luc Melenchon and Prime Minister François Bayrou, expressed concern over a court with the power to immediately prohibit Le Pen, in particular before the appeal processes took their course.

The spokesman for the National Rally, Fabrice, Leggeri, said on Tuesday “Squawk Box Europe” of CNBC that the decision was a “threat to French democracy” and that there was a lack of “neutrality” in the French judicial system.
Meanwhile, the president of the National Rally Jordan Bardella – a probable “plan B” for the party presidential candidate if Le Pen’s call does not succeed – called the supporters to sign a petition approving Le Pen Le Pen and “a peaceful mobilization” to defend the politician.
French politics “becomes even more disorderly”
Analysts agree that the decision could have a disturbing effect on French politics at a time when the country has already experienced months to compete for its leaders and its expense and tax plans.
The court’s decision could make the national rally more volatile and more likely to lower the already fragile government led by the Central Bayrou Center, which has only succeeded recently – and closely – to adopt a budget in 2025 to fight which reached 5.8% of economic production last year.
“In the short term, this verdict will make France’s regulation even more difficult,” said Fied Fied, Berenberg Bank economist on Monday in an analysis by email entitled “French Politics Turn even more disorderly”.
“With the Parliament divided into three almost equal size factions, the right and the left together can overturn the government of the central minority at any time. Feeling unfairly judged, the national rally is now less likely to cooperate with the government and more likely to support a motion of non-confidence against Prime Minister François Bayrou,” he noted.
As for Le Pen’s political future, analysts stressed that it was too early to harm its presidential ambitions, adding that the National Rally is likely to portray Le Pen as a political martyr and victim of the establishment.
Fiedler of Berenberg noted that the party “could be able to play the verdict by claiming by political persecution and by leading an anti-establishment feeling”.
Mujtaba Rahman, director general of Europe, agreed on Monday that “it was not a” political “trial, but Le Pen will now seek to make one. She could succeed”.
The chief of the extreme French Marine Le Pen, deputy of the parliament of the parliament of rallies (RNAL – RN), leaves the headquarters of the party on the day of the verdict of the trial of his 24 other defendants (party officials, former legislators and parliamentary assistants) and the RN party, beyond 2025.

Note that Le Pen’s political fate “was not decided” by the decision on Monday, Rahman said that the politician would almost certainly bring an emergency call before one of the three French organizations which fulfilled a role equivalent to that of the Supreme Court of the United States.
There, she will ask the Constitutional Council to answer a “priority question” on the validity of its immediate ban of five years, assigned before calls against conviction.
“It is expected to support the Constitutional Council that it is too important to prohibit. It would be an affront to French democracy, its lawyers will say that if voters are prohibited from making ballots for a first row in the presidential election in 2027,” noted Rahman.
Rahman said there was a “strong chance” that the PEN’s ban be suspended if an emergency call before the French Constitutional Council concludes that voters’ rights should prevail over the letter of the law. The process will take time, however,
“These calls should last at least two years and allow it to come to the presidency in April-May 2027,” he noted.
