ALTOONA – South Hills School of Business & Technology is proud to announce the launch of a new graphic arts program on its Altoona campus.

This innovative program, leading to an Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) degree, combines the creativity of graphic design with the power of computer technology, preparing students for a dynamic career at the intersection of art and technology.

The South Hills Graphic Arts program offers students the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in the principles of graphic design, while gaining specialized skills in digital technologies used in the modern design industry.

With an emphasis on computer technology, students will learn to use industry-standard software to create visually appealing designs for a variety of applications, including print media, digital marketing, advertising, web design, etc.

“The future of graphic arts is digital, and our new program gives students the tools they need to succeed in this rapidly evolving field,” said Jeff Stachowski, director of outreach at the South Hills School of Business & Technology.

“By combining artistic creativity and technological mastery, we offer students a unique opportunity to become leaders in the digital arts industry. »

Key program highlights include:

  • Practical training: Students will gain hands-on experience using professional-grade software such as Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and other design tools.
  • Industry relevant curriculum: The program offers courses in areas such as digital illustration, web design, multimedia creation, digital video production and much more.
  • Experienced Faculty: Students will be taught by instructors with real-world experience in graphic arts and digital design, ensuring training that reflects current industry standards.
  • Career Opportunities: Graduates of the program will be well prepared to pursue careers in graphic design, digital media, advertising, animation and other fields where art and technology converge.

The new program is designed to meet the growing demand for professionals who can combine artistic talent and technical expertise in the ever-changing world of digital media.

With a focus on hands-on training and real-world application, the Graphic Arts program provides a comprehensive path to success for creative individuals with a passion for both art and technology.
