Request for mental health services Stay highDespite long waiting lists and a massive shortage of providers. Last week, mental health care startup Two chairs announced a major expansion to help meet this need.

The company based in San Francisco, which offers hybrid behavioral health care, has extended its presence of three states to 22 states.

Before, two chairs operated in California, Florida and Washington. Expansion includes states such as Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois and New Jersey.

This expansion gives millions of people access to therapy services, as the services of two chairs are now available for 75% of the American population, according to the announcement.

The startup, founded in 2017, provides virtual psychotherapy and in person for adults with a wide range of mental health problems through the acuity spectrum.

The company seeks to facilitate the search for therapists. The stigmatization associated with mental health care fades culturally – but people often find it difficult to find a mental health care provider once they recognize that they need it, underlined the founder and CEO of two Alex Katz chairs.

“Finding a therapist should not be difficult, but too many people have a hard time for long waiting lists, incompatible therapists or care that is not covered by their insurance. Two chairs have been built to change this. We combine human expertise with technology to match patients with the right therapist from the start, leading to better commitment and results,” he said.

Two chairs ensure that access to care is simple, with meetings generally available in a few days, noted Katz.

Patients start with a virtual consultation with an authorized clinician who helps understand their needs. They are then twinned with a therapist that corresponds to their preferences, their clinical needs and their communication style. After that, they start a therapy – either in person, practically or a combination of the two.

Throughout their care journey, users of two presidents receive personalized comments based on the measure to follow their progress and make sure they improve, added Katz.

He also noted that the company sought to make high quality therapy accessible and affordable by being in a network with major health plans. It also offers self-payment options for those who have no network coverage.

Katz thinks that two chairs give patients the flexibility to choose how they engage in mental health care.

“Our hybrid care model combines the convenience of virtual therapy with the depth of sessions in person in selected places. Some patients prefer virtual care, while others opt for therapy in person or a hybrid mixture when available. Providing these options guarantees that patients have the flexibility to choose what has best met their needs and preferences, “he said.

Two presidents employ more than 600 approved therapists using a W2 job model. He raised $ 130 million in capital, his last financing round being a round of $ 72 million About a year ago.

“Since our foundation in 2017, we have adopted an intentional approach to growth – first establishing a solid basis in California, then we extend to Florida and Washington before putting on a national scale. This next expansion phase, launching in 19 new states and reaching 22 by June, is an important step,” said Katz.
