FSU PC Stem Camp highlights coding, AI and national security careers

FSU Panama City welcomed three sciences, technology, engineering and a week’s math camps to arouse interest in national defense careers.

  • The third annual exhibition on Ascension technology will take place on Saturday April 26 at FSU Panama City.
  • The event offers practical STEM activities, technological demonstrations and catering trucks.
  • ASCENT is a 23 million dollars project focused on the development of a regional workforce in cybersecurity and new technologies.

The third annual exhibition on Ascension technology will take place on Saturday April 26 at the Florida State University Panama City.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Holley Academic Center, visitors can consult STEM practical activities; launch water rockets; Discover the mobile planetarium of the Challenger Learning Center; Participate in engineering technology and demonstrations; And much more, including on -site catering trucks, according to a press release.

“We had more than 700 participants last year,” said Brianne Biddle, K-12 link for Ascension, in the press release. “Our robotics clubs will show their robots, we will have Minecraft games and our Esports team is on board.”

Ascension (Advancing Science and Career Education in New Technologies) is a project of $ 23 million over six years partially funded by Triumph Gulf Coast Inc. which is designed to contribute to the development of a solid regional workforce in cybersecurity and new technologies, notes the press release.

Projects focus on the increase in the interest of kindergarten students in the 12th year in the fields of engineering, IT, information technologies and cybersecurity; Expansion of undergraduate study programs at FSU Panama City; And offer training courses and tests to meet the needs of our community’s workforce.
