Pope Francis continues to show signs of progressive improvement in his health while recovering from bilateral pneumonia in his Vatican residence, according to the Holy See press office.

By Vatican News

The director of the Holy See press office, Matteo Bruni, organized a briefing for journalists on Friday to provide an update on the recovery of Pope Francis of bilateral pneumonia.

Bruni said that the Pope’s health is stable, noting that he has shown slight improvements in respiratory and engines functions, as well as in his speech.

The Holy Father continues to gradually reduce the amount of high speed oxygen which it receives through nasal cannulas during the day, accompanied by a slight reduction at night.

According to blood tests carried out Wednesday, the pope’s hematological parameters are normal.

Pope Francis continues to alternate between therapy, prayer, rest and a certain work activity, with all the Dicasés of the Roman Curia sending documents to update it on their activity.

The pope will conceive mass every day in the chapel of Casa Santa Marta.

Bruni said the Pope had no special visit to report.

He added that Pope Francis had been informed of the earthquake in Myanmar, saying that the Pope prays for the many victims.

Friday morning, he followed the second Lent sermon pronounced by the father. Roberto Pasolini, OFMCAP, via video links broadcast by Vatican Media.

Angelus’s address of this Sunday will be published by the Holy See press office as he did the previous Sunday.
